NOVEMBER 19 BEGINNINGAT 8PM ON PBS SOCAL
Examine the impact of an ever-growing number of killer whales in Arctic waters during the summer months on“Nature: Invasion of the Killer Whales”premiering Wednesday, November 19 at 8 p.m. on PBS SoCaL. As the ice shrinks in the Arctic, polar bears are struggling to survive in a fast melting world. More and more killer whales have been attracted to these hunting grounds by the growing expanse of open water. They attack the same prey as the polar bears: seals, narwhal, belugas and bowhead whales creating fierce competition for both.
Then, learn what triggered the deadliest U.S. landslide in decades on“Nova: Killer Landslides” premieringWednesday, November 19 at 9 p.m. on PBS SoCaL. In less than two minutes in March 2014, a one-square-mile field of debris slammed into the Washington state community of Oso, killing 41 and destroying nearly 50 homes.
